Mid-West Ghana Conference Reorganization

In 2013 the then Executive Committee unanimously voted to reorganize Mid-West Ghana Conference into two fields. This field was planned to cover the entire Sector Two of the Conference which consisted of Districts in the Eastern side of Brong/Ahafo with headquarters in Techiman.

On 23rd December 2013, the following were appointed to the leadership position of the Administrative Unit: Pastor John Akumfi Ameyaw (Director), Pastor James Anane Domeh (Secretary) and Elder William Ampomah (Treasurer).

In June 2014 another vote was taken to reorganize Mid-West again where Ahafo area is also made Administrative Unit with Pastor Maxwell Ntim Antwi (Director) Pastor Agyeman Joseph (Secretary) and Pastor Nuamah Donkor (Treasurer).

 

On 28th August 2014 an inspection Team from West-Central African Division (WAD) came to evaluate the two Units to confer on them Conference status.  This team was led by Pastor Adjebade (WAD Executive Secretary).  To the glory of God in the same year Conference status was granted.

For them to work as a Conference, a special session was held at Valley View University, Techiman campus to elect officers to man the two Conferences.  This took place from 10th – 14th December, 2014.  The total population of Mid-West Ghana Conference before reorganization was 44,395.

The current Mid-West Ghana Conference is comprised of twenty-four (24) Districts namely, Techimantia, Bechem, Tano North, Abesim, Sunyani North, Sunyani South, Sunyani East, Sunyani West, Sunyani South/West, Berekum West, Berekum East, Wamfie, Wamanafour, Dormaa Central, Dormaa South, Nkranwanta, Japekrom, Jaman South, Jaman East, Tain, Seikwa, Chiraa, Badu and Penkwase with  (93) organized churches and One hundred and forty-two (142) company churches, with the population of twenty thousand, five hundred and eighty-six (20, 586) baptized members.

At the Second Quadrennial Session held from Wednesday 4th to Sunday 8th April, 2018, Pastor Paul Twumasi Danquah was elected President, Pastor Jonathan Amo Ameyaw (Executive Secretary) and Pastor Seth Asare Tawiah (Treasurer).

To crown it all, Mid-West Ghana Conference for a period of about four years have chalked a lot of successes in the field of soul-winning, church planting, infrastructure development, manpower development, Technological development and financial development. All to the glory of God.
